At one of the largest aquariums in Japan, you will be welcomed by 50,000 marine creatures of about 500 species, including killer whales, emperor penguins, sea turtles, and tropical fish.
It is also the only two places in Japan where you can meet killer whales and emperor penguins!
South Pavilion] Journey to Antarctica
The South Pavilion recreates the waters from Japan to Antarctica and introduces the creatures that live in that environment.
The pavilion is divided into five areas: “Japanese Ocean,” “Deep Sea Gallery,” “Equatorial Ocean,” “Australian Waterside,” and “Antarctic Ocean,” and visitors can observe different marine life in each area.
Of particular note is the “Mai Eagle Tornado” at the Kuroshio Aquarium. The spectacular scene of approximately 35,000 Japanese eagles swimming in unison is truly a fantastic world of the sea.
North Pavilion] 3.5 Billion Years Far Journey: Animals Back to the Sea Again
The North Pavilion introduces the evolution of life and the world of animals that have adapted to life in the ocean. Visitors can experience the evolutionary history and fascination of marine mammals such as orcas, dolphins, and belugas.
Japan’s largest main pool
Particularly popular are the powerful dolphin performances held in the main pool, the largest in Japan, with a stand seating approximately 3,000 people.
Children and adults alike will be unintentionally mesmerized by the sight of dolphins dynamically jumping in the huge pool.
A soothing underwater world
The aquarium’s charming creatures such as bottlenose dolphins, beluga whales, live coral tanks, and jellyfish will soothe you with their fantastic underwater worlds. You can also enjoy the colorful landscape created by real corals.
In addition to its fascinating exhibits, the Port of Nagoya Aquarium also conducts a variety of research and conservation activities. There are many firsts and achievements in Japan, such as the breeding of belugas, the protection, research and breeding of sea turtles, and the breeding of penguins.
In addition, the “Umi no Chikara” environmental education room on the issue of marine plastics is also working to educate visitors on the importance of protecting the marine environment.
There are also restaurants and cafes in the aquarium, where visitors can enjoy a delicious meal while strolling through the museum. In addition, visitors can enjoy a powerful visual experience at the cinema pavilion.
In addition to enjoying the diversity and beauty of marine life, the Port of Nagoya Aquarium also focuses on research, conservation activities, and environmental education. We invite you to visit the Port of Nagoya Aquarium to experience the mysterious world of the sea.
